Premiers West on Supreme Court case said

Premier Lorne Calvert (Saskatchewan) "The provinces need to investigate whether extra legislative tools, either provincially or through the Canada Health Act, would strengthen the concept of the single-payer system."

Premier Gary Doer (Manitoba) "The ruling does not mean the end of medicare, but is an alarm bell for provincial governments struggling to manage long waiting lists for services."

Premier Ralph Klein (Alberta) "The Alberta government is very pleased with this decision."

Premier Gordon Campbell (British Columbia) called on Ottawa and the provinces to overhaul the Canada Health Act immediately.

I agree with Premier Doer, see my posts below. No surprise that Klein would love the decision, and Gordon Campbell is looking for a way to sound supportive of public care while being busy privatizing it faster than even Klein can do it.
